How It All Started

Pachenkins was born out of friendship, music, and a popcorn popper.

Joe and Jesús met teaching music and quickly discovered they had more in common than their love for music. They were both obsessed with food, flavor, and the experience of a great cup of coffee. It was Joe who first introduced Jesús to the world of pour-overs and specialty coffee, and from there, things got a little out of hand (in the best way).

Houston's specialty coffee scene at the time left them wanting more. So when Jesús mentioned he had a friend in Mexico who started roasting coffee on a popcorn popper, Joe didn't hesitate: "Hey, I happen to have a popcorn popper, let's give it a try."

And just like that, Pachenkins was born.

What followed was years of trial, error, learning, and a whole lot of coffee. We went from that humble popcorn popper to a small personal roaster, and eventually to a small commercial roaster. Every step of the way, we were driven by one simple goal: to roast coffee we'd actually want to drink every single day.

What We're About

We focus on single origin varietals: carefully sourced, thoughtfully roasted to highlight what makes each coffee unique. No shortcuts. No filler. Just great beans, treated with the respect they deserve.

Our roasting profiles were built around our own palates. We're foodies at heart, and we bring that same obsession with flavor and quality to every roast. If we wouldn't drink it ourselves, it doesn't leave our hands. Simple as that.

This is our daily cup. We hope it becomes yours too.
